Adrenal Fatigue and Adrenal Exhaustion: A Virtually Unknown Health Condition Now Affecting Millions

Not understood or even known by many Doctors and Health Care Professionals, a condition called Adrenal Fatigue or Adrenal Exhaustion (commonly known as chronic stress) is no longer just a blip on the radar screen. Adrenal Fatigue and Adrenal Exhaustion is a quiet epidemic becoming more and more common in our over stressed and under nourished modern day world.

It is estimated that Adrenal Fatigue and Adrenal Exhaustion affects millions each year and, ironically, is often found in highly ambitious, successful yet very stressed out individuals. Most do not even know they have it.

Adrenal Fatigue and Adrenal Exhaustion originates from the human body?s very own Adrenal Glands, which are located just above the kidneys. The Adrenal Glands are considered the control centers of the body and are responsible for secreting many very critical hormones needed to stay alive, stay healthy, and to keep our bodies in balance. They include: cortisol, testosterone, estrogen, DHEA and adrenaline ? the hormone the Adrenal Glands are named after.

We all experience stress and the sole purpose of the Adrenal Glands is to react to whatever stress the body sees as a threat by properly increasing the production of adrenaline and many other important hormones throughout the body. In an ideal, healthy situation the Adrenal Glands are able to properly and very efficiently increase the body?s energy stores for immediate use, raise heart rate and blood pressure accordingly, normalize blood sugar and sharpen the senses.

Unfortunately, an ideal, healthy situation is certainly not the norm for most of us today. It is no longer a secret that we live in a world in which we are exposed to stress, environmental toxins and nutritional deficiencies more than ever before in history. The Adrenal Glands end up bearing most of the stress. This sets the stage for what many experts feel may be one of the 21st Century?s largest and potentially very damaging health epidemics: Adrenal Fatigue or Adrenal Exhaustion.

It is important to understand that Doctors DO NOT diagnose Adrenal Fatigue or Adrenal Exhaustion until it is often times too late. Doctors are only trained to look for very extreme cases of Adrenal Fatigue or Adrenal Exhaustion known as Addison?s Disease, which is when the Adrenal Glands do not produce enough cortisol or Cushings Syndrome, which is when the Adrenal Glands produce too much cortisol.

If you feel run down, tired often, stressed out, anxious, easily agitated or just plain uninterested in life at times, chances are your Adrenal Glands have come under pressure and you may be experiencing symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue or Adrenal Exhaustion. It is not normal to feel this way.

Proper nutrition, proper supplementation and proper lifestyle changes can and do make a difference for the great majority of people if these symptoms are detected early enough. Most cases of Adrenal Fatigue and Adrenal Exhaustion can be reversed before they become Addison?s Disease or Cushing?s Syndrome.
